Introduction
The era of Laser mice is at its best. Every company producing rodents for gamers are striving for high bandwidth laser technology, such that it can accompany and keep up with the higher screen resolution we’re now taking into account. Although some companies are going back for new generation optical sensors, Logitech have been insisting on the Laser since 2004, when MX-1000 came into the scene with a transformation both in sensor and in design. It was a one off mouse that soon would be discontinued for a new generation of Gaming Mice both wired and wireless.
In 2005, the Swiss company made public a new marketing ideology of labeling gaming equipment: The G-series. This consisted of different versions of keyboards (G11 and G15 reviewed here), laser mice (G1, G3, G5, G7) and gamepads (G25).

On the G5 and G7 mice one cannot help but notice the impeccable right-hand fashionable designed that first characterised the MX500 mouse, with an 800DPI resolution and a native PS/2 connectivity. It was later implemented on the MX510, MX 518, MX700, MX900 and now back with a bang and some button modifications and gleaming new scroll wheel design on the G5/G7.
In this review, I’m going to review 2 generations of the same product right next to each other. The original G5 design that was first released in 2005 came with various skin and light amendments over the past 2 years. There was the Star Wars Edition, Battlefield2 and Battlefield 2142 edition.
